Wedding hair and makeup | Westin Harbour Island

August 31st, 2011

Congratulations to Sara and John, who just celebrated their 1 year aniversary on July 4th!  When I did Sara’s hair and makeup trial run, she tried on her dress and WOW… it was made for by a dress maker in Columbia.  The detail was amazing and I fell in love!  Sara had a very particular idea of what she wanted for her hair and makeup wedding style.  Classic, timeless, vintage… she pulled tons of pictures of hair and makeup ideas that she liked and things she didn’t like to help communicate her wedding day hair and makeup style.  I always tell our brides to do just that… big, loose culs or a smokey eye can mean something completely different from me to you.   Sara decided to go with airbrush makeup.  The biggest difference between airbrush and tradional makeup, is in your wedding pictures and videography.  Airbrush makeup is made for high definition… it gives a very clean flawless look to the skin without alot of product and photographs very well.

Wedding hair and makeup at the Don Cesar

August 17th, 2011

Congratulations to Amy and Dan!  These two had their destination wedding at the Don Cesar in St Pete Beach, Florida this past May.  Because Amy was planning her wedding from Boston, she was not able to have a trial run done before her wedding day, which we are completely ok with.  It happens all the time with our destination weddings.  We just allowed some extra time that day so that we could talk, look at pictures of wedding hair and makeup, time to try the look, and time to make any changes.  (without rushing)  Amy went with a sleek, simple, elegant look that worked well with her birdcage veil and her soft sweetheart dress . .  am I saying that correctly??  Sweetheart cut . . maybe?  Life’s Highlights was there to capture every special moment that day.  Check out the Seashell flower basket!!  What a great idea!  Only flower girls can get away with rock’n 3 pairs of sunglasses.

Brides’ Night Out at Mangroves

August 16th, 2011

Wow!!  Is all I can say!  I had soooo much fun at this event.  Shawna and Beth, from Flawless Occasions,  put on an incredible cocktail party for brides’ to be and their girlfriends.  It was a “bridal show” meets girl’s night out.  Mangrove’s in South Tampa hosted the party.  I had never been there before . . we don’t get out much unfortunately.  A+ for the atmosphere!  I loved their little cubby hole booths downstairs and the lit up stained glass effect on the bar top.   Mangroves is now catering . . you have to try their Macaroni and Cheese!  It was amazing . . melts in your mouth.  Check out some of these lovely brides and their bridesmaids posing with Love Notes. . . .

Check out the Gorgeous models that we did hair and makeup for below.  All four of these ladies have what I call “model hair”.  All of their hair was super long, thick, and at least 10 heads of hair more than what I have . . I’m so super jealous!  The first one is with Cindy and her assistant from the White Closet Bridal Company . .  which is where the wedding dresses and hair jewelry came from.  Cindy was such a pleasure to work with.  I would highly recommend stopping by her shop if you are still in the market for your wedding dress.  She has impeccable style and knows her stuff!!

Aren’t these pictures great?!  Thanks to Shem and Caroline with Blue Lane Studios.  They came up with the most amazing idea to have future brides pose with “Love Notes”.  It was so much fun!  I’ll keep you all posted for the next Brides’ Night Out.   I believe Beth and Shawna are planning one in downtown St Petersburg next month.

Thank you Beth and Shawna for such a fun, memorable evening with the girls!!
